Canson Infinity

With over 450 years’ experience, we have unique expertise and know-how. Our goal is to offer all artists high-quality products which inspire them and give them confidence. All our customers acknowledge the excellence of our products.

Canson was founded in 1557 by the Montgolfier family. Its development and destiny are intertwined with the history of France and the history of Art. Rooted in tradition, Canson respects this heritage and its duty to always provide consumers with outstanding paper.

Innovation is in the genes of the company.  The Montgolfier brothers invented the first hot-air balloon in 1782. But first and foremost, they were paper manufacturers. Over the centuries, the company created numerous manufacturing processes such as the Hollander beater to tear up rag, pulp dying to obtain uniform coloured paper, etc. They also innovated with vellum paper, then tracing paper in 1809. In 1865, Canson obtained a patent for a photo paper which simplified printing operations.

Canson continues to offer products in keeping with consumer expectations: school pack, technical drawing paper, fine art printing paper, papers for digital art printing and photos, etc.

Gallery Systems

As leaders in the innovation of art hanging systems worldwide, we at Gallery Systems are excited to announce the latest addition to our range – The Clearline Hanging System.

For many years our competitors have offered hanging systems using ‘fishing line’ hangers with weight capacities as low as 4kg. Recently we found a 100-year-old Australian company which manufactures a 1.2mm diameter clear line with incredible strength. Using this amazing product, we have now developed our own ‘Clearline Hanger’.  The new system is designed for use with our original Gallery System track and performs best when used with the original allen key hook. Our long-term weight tests indicate we can conservatively claim up to 14kg weight capacity.

If you have the Slimline art hanging system don’t worry, we are developing a Clearline Hanger for Slimline and this will be released very soon!
